Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th, 1967. Julia Fiona Roberts is the fourth generation Roberts that resided in Atlanta. She inherited her father's interest in theater from a young age. When he was a student at Emory University he appeared in various productions both on and off the campus. He joined the Air Force and while stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi, he acted in a play together with Betty Lou Bredemus. Both married in 2005 and welcomed their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University at New Orleans, Louisiana in 1957 after the couple had left the Air Force of the United States. Walter was hired to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the show Bum Bum and His Buddies. The show was filmed in Decatur Georgia. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou began production on a local children's Saturday morning TV show known as Bum Bum and His Buddies which they funded by themselves. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou founded The Actors and Writers Workshop. The workshop lasted six years. They had two more children. Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also known by the name Lisa) as well as Julia Billingsley (1967) (also known as Julie).
